The PV program prepares students for a career as a PV Associate. Within 15 weeks, students will gain the necessary skills and certification, with an emphasis on hands-on training from day one. Students after completing the certification will sit for the NABCEP PV Associate exam proctored by NABCEP. Graduates receive job placement support through our partner network. The immersive online PV Associate certification program uses advanced VR technology to teach essential PV skills. With a VR headset, students can design, install, and maintain photovoltaic (PV) systems from home. The program includes instructor-led videos, 3D demonstrations, e-learning interactivity, and weekly assessments, concluding with a capstone project and an assessment.

We provide every student with a Virtual Reality (VR) headset, enabling hands-on training in Application, Sales and Economics, Design, Installation, and Maintenance and Operation from day one. Through VR simulations, you’ll gain real-world experience, developing the skills necessary to navigate industry challenges, from understanding PV technology and system components to financial considerations, system layout, installation procedures, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
The program will cover the following:
- Certified PV Specialist training in solar system design, installation, and maintenance
- Key PV system components and their roles in system operation
- Safety considerations and regulatory requirements
- Solar resource assessment for optimal energy production

About Certification
Through advanced Virtual Reality (VR) technology, this program offers a truly hands-on learning experience. Students will master critical skills such as understanding the types of PV systems, identifying key components of specific PV systems, PV design, installation, and maintenance in a realistic yet accessible virtual environment.
At the culmination of the program, students will undertake a comprehensive capstone project in VR, where they will apply their knowledge and demonstrate their hands-on skills in real-world scenarios. This is complemented by a rigorous end-of-course assessment, ensuring students meet the highest industry standards. The certification not only makes students job-ready but also prepares them for any national or statewide PV certification. Only upon successful completion of these evaluations will participants earn the Certified PV Associate title, marking their readiness to excel in the renewable energy industry.
