Hands-On HEV Technician Training with VR
Are you ready to accelerate your career in hybrid electric vehicle technology? Our Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) Technician program equips you with the skills to succeed in a rapidly evolving automotive industry. Through the use of cutting-edge VR simulations, students gain practical, hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing both internal combustion and electric systems within hybrid platforms.
Each student receives a Virtual Reality (VR) headset, providing access to interactive modules that simulate real-world HEV challenges. You’ll work with hybrid-specific diagnostic tools, interpret data, troubleshoot common ICE and electric faults, and practice safety protocols critical to working on high-voltage systems.
The program will cover the following:
- Hybrid vehicle diagnostics, OBD-II and CAN/BUS communication
- Troubleshooting ICE issues: sensors, timing components, mechanical faults
- Diagnosing electric motor systems and rotor/torque imbalances
- Battery pack diagnostics, replacements, and BMS fault analysis
- Interplay diagnostics between ICE and electric systems
- Regenerative braking systems and hybrid transmission repair
- Cooling systems for batteries, inverters, and electric motors
- High-voltage safety, PPE usage, and lockout/tagout procedures

- Exam Length: 120 multiple-choice questions
- Time Limit: 90 minutes
- Proctoring: Live remote proctoring via MonitorEDU
- Scheduling: Students select their own exam time
- Requirements: A quiet space, photo ID, webcam, and reliable internet
