About the Course:

This Electric Safety in Manufacturing microcredential trains EV technicians in the critical aspects of electric safety within electric vehicle manufacturing and service environments. With the increasing use of high-voltage systems and advanced driver-assistance technologies (ADAS), safety knowledge is essential. The course covers arc flash/blast awareness, pyrotechnic safety mechanisms, high-voltage disconnection procedures, and discharge systems. Hands-on VR simulations enhance learners’ confidence in safely working around high-voltage connectors and safety switches.

Learning Objectives:

Course will be delivered via LMS and comes with a VR headset to access VR simulations.

Workforce Development

Engineer working on electric vehicle battery system in an automotive manufacturing facility.

At ImmerseLearn, we empower EV technicians to safely navigate the hazards of high-voltage and intelligent vehicle systems. This microcredential builds essential safety competencies required in both manufacturing and service settings.

Learn the foundational risks associated with working on or around energized components in electric vehicles.

Understand the causes, differences, and personal protective equipment (PPE) required to mitigate arc-related incidents.

Gain confidence in performing maintenance tasks on high-voltage EVs with proper lockout-tagout (LOTO) and discharge procedures.

Identify risks such as unintentional activation of autonomous features and sensor misalignment during repairs.

Study how PSS systems disconnect batteries during a crash and their role in technician and occupant safety.

Differentiate passive systems that bleed off voltage over time from active systems that rapidly de-energize circuits.

Engage in immersive virtual reality modules to practice safely disconnecting HV connectors and handling PSS equipment.

By completing this microcredential, students will be prepared to work safely and effectively in environments with high-voltage EV systems and ADAS technologies, reducing risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
