This microcredential introduces learners to the essential electrical test equipment used in photovoltaic (PV) systems. Learners will explore how to properly measure and analyze key electrical parameters in solar circuits and learn about multimeters, clamp meters, and I-V curve tracers. Through guided, hands-on training and interactive simulations, learners will gain practical skills to assess PV system performance and diagnose common issues such as shading, temperature effects, and equipment mismatch.
At ImmerseLearn, we know that precision testing is vital to maintaining safe, efficient, and high-performing solar installations. This course provides learners with the technical knowledge and hands-on experience needed to test, verify, and optimize PV systems in the field.
Develop a working knowledge of core diagnostic tools, including how and when to use multimeters for voltage/resistance, clamp meters for current flow, and I-V curve tracers for full system performance analysis.
Gain confidence in measuring and interpreting electrical values across PV modules and arrays, reinforcing the connection between theory and field practice.
Understand key factors that affect PV system output, such as irradiance, temperature, and system mismatch—and how to identify them through testing.
Practice diagnosing underperformance through simulated test data and build the critical thinking skills needed for fast, effective on-site assessments.
Engage with interactive, scenario-based training that mirrors field conditions, ensuring that learners are job-ready from day one.
By completing this microcredential, learners will become proficient in the use of essential PV test equipment—empowering them to monitor, maintain, and optimize solar energy systems with accuracy and confidence.
