Utah Journeyman Plumber Exam Prep

How to Get a Utah Journeyman Plumber license

  1. Meet the minimum experience requirements (see below)
  2. Submit a completed application and fees to the Utah DOPL
  3. Take and pass the Utah plumbers exam
    1. Journeyman Experience
      1. 4 years full-time as a licensed apprentice while enrolled in an approved training program that includes at least 576 classroom hours OR
      2. 8 years full time as a licensed apprentice outside an approved training program
    2. Residential Journeyman Experience
      1. 3 years full time as a licensed apprentice while enrolled in an approved training program that includes at least 432 classroom hours OR
      2. 6 years full time as a licensed apprentice outside an approved training program
