About the Course:

This Boiler Maintenance microcredential trains HVAC technicians to safely inspect, maintain, and verify the performance of commercial boiler systems. Learners practice isolating gas and electrical supplies, servicing air filtration components, cleaning and inspecting ignition system parts, measuring electrode gaps, and performing gas pressure verification using a manometer. The course emphasizes preventive maintenance, safe work practices, proper component reinstallation, and performance testing to ensure efficient, reliable, and safe boiler operation.

Learning Objectives:

  • Safely isolate gas and electrical power before servicing the boiler  
  • Inspect, clean, and replace boiler air filter and foam pre-filter components  
  • Remove, inspect, clean, and reinstall ignition system components   
  • Measure and adjust the electrode gap to manufacturer specifications
