About the Course:
The Dermatology Procedures microcredential introduces learners to essential skin assessment and clinical support procedures as part of our clinical medical assistant training, preparing them for real-world outpatient and specialty care settings. Through immersive VR simulations and interactive learning modules, learners gain foundational knowledge of skin anatomy, common dermatologic conditions, and hands-on procedures performed in dermatology clinics.
The course emphasizes patient communication, safety, aseptic technique, and proper documentation core competencies for Certified Medical Assistants assisting with dermatologic care and procedures.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the layers, structures, and primary functions of the skin and integumentary system.
- Recognize signs, symptoms, and visual indicators of common dermatologic conditions.
- Demonstrate proper techniques for assisting with dermatology procedures such as biopsies, wound care, cryotherapy, and specimen collection.

Course delivered via LMS and requires an Oculus VR headset for hands-on VR simulations.
