About the Course:

This HVAC Copper Tubing Types & Applications microcredential introduces HVAC associates to the different types of copper tubing commonly used in HVAC systems. Learners will explore copper tubing classifications, characteristics, applications, sizes, and identification methods while developing an understanding of how copper is selected for different HVAC applications.

The course emphasizes recognizing common copper types, understanding their properties and applications, identifying tubing sizes and markings, and selecting appropriate copper tubing for HVAC systems. Through immersive training, learners develop practical knowledge needed to work safely and effectively with copper tubing in HVAC environments.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify common types of copper tubing used in HVAC systems.
  • Explain the characteristics and applications of different copper tubing types.
  • Distinguish between rigid and flexible copper tubing.
  • Recognize common copper tubing sizes and identifying markings.
  • Understand how copper tubing is selected for different HVAC applications.
  • Identify appropriate copper tubing based on system requirements.
  • Identify common conditions that may affect copper tubing quality and usability.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of copper tubing selection for basic HVAC applications.

This HVAC Copper Tubing Types & Applications training is delivered through our LMS and is available as both web-based and immersive VR training.

HVAC Copper Tubing Types & Applications Training for HVAC Technicians

RTU maintenance and troubleshooting training for HVAC systems

At ImmerseLearn, we equip HVAC associates with practical, job-ready knowledge required to identify and work with copper tubing used in HVAC systems. This microcredential strengthens copper identification, classification, size recognition, application awareness, material handling, and workplace safety through immersive VR-based learning.

How this course strengthens workforce skills:

Copper Tubing Types and Classification −
Learn to identify common types of copper tubing used in HVAC applications. Learners explore the differences between rigid and flexible copper tubing and understand the characteristics that distinguish each type.
Copper Tubing Characteristics and Applications +
Explore the properties and typical applications of different copper tubing types. Learners develop an understanding of how tubing characteristics influence its use in refrigerant lines, connections, and other HVAC applications.
Copper Tubing Sizes and Identification +
Practice identifying copper tubing by size, markings, and physical characteristics. Learners develop familiarity with common tubing dimensions and recognize how proper identification supports accurate HVAC work.
Copper Selection and Material Handling +
Learn how to select appropriate copper tubing based on basic HVAC application requirements. Learners also practice proper handling, storage, and protection of copper tubing to help prevent damage, contamination, and deformation.

By completing this microcredential, HVAC associates will develop practical knowledge of copper tubing types, characteristics, sizes, applications, identification, selection, and safe handling. Learners will be better prepared to recognize and select appropriate copper tubing for HVAC applications while following professional workplace safety practices.
