About the Course:

Patient Oral Hygiene and Mouth Care is a fundamental patient care skill for Nursing Assistants working in hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, and other healthcare settings. In this microcredential, learners are introduced to the purpose and clinical importance of providing oral hygiene to patients, promoting comfort, preventing oral infections, maintaining overall health, and supporting patient dignity through safe and effective oral care practices.

Through immersive VR simulations, learners gain hands-on experience performing a complete oral care procedure while following proper patient care protocols, hand hygiene practices, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, patient identification procedures, infection prevention measures, communication techniques, and safe body mechanics. The course emphasizes patient privacy, comfort, professionalism, and adherence to healthcare standards throughout the procedure.
