Rapid Shutdown System Inspection
About the Course:
This Rapid Shutdown System Inspection microcredential trains PV technicians to identify and visually inspect rapid shutdown system components used to enhance safety in solar photovoltaic systems.
Learners will explore rapid shutdown devices, switches, wiring, connectors, and other accessible components while understanding their purpose within the PV system. Through immersive VR simulations, learners will practice inspecting components for visible damage, loose connections, corrosion, wear, and other abnormal conditions.
The course emphasizes systematic inspection, electrical safety, appropriate PPE, component condition assessment, and accurate identification and reporting of inspection findings.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the major components of a PV rapid shutdown system.
- Understand the purpose and basic function of rapid shutdown equipment.
- Locate rapid shutdown components within a PV system.
- Perform visual inspections of accessible rapid shutdown components.
- Inspect switches, devices, wiring, connectors, and enclosures for visible abnormalities.
- Recognize signs of damage, corrosion, wear, or loose connections.
- Identify conditions that may affect rapid shutdown system safety or functionality.
- Accurately document and report inspection findings.
This Solar PV System Inspection training is delivered through our LMS and is available as both web-based and immersive VR training.

Rapid Shutdown System Inspection for PV Technicians

At ImmerseLearn, we equip solar technicians with practical skills required to safely inspect rapid shutdown systems. This microcredential strengthens component identification, visual inspection, condition recognition, electrical safety, attention to detail, and inspection reporting through immersive VR-based learning.
By completing this microcredential, PV technicians will develop the practical skills needed to identify and visually inspect rapid shutdown system components, recognize visible abnormalities, and safely document and report inspection findings.
