About the Course:

This Refrigerant Pressure Measurement with Manifold Gauges microcredential trains HVAC associates to identify, inspect, connect, and safely operate manifold gauge sets used for refrigerant system diagnostics and servicing. Learners will practice checking gauges, hoses, valves, and fittings for damage or leaks, making proper connections, and reading refrigerant pressure measurements accurately.

The course emphasizes safe handling practices, equipment inspection, refrigerant safety, and proper storage procedures. Through practical training, learners develop the skills needed to use manifold gauges confidently and support safe, accurate, and reliable HVAC service operations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify common components and types of HVAC manifold gauge sets
  • Inspect gauges, hoses, valves, fittings, and connections for damage or defects
  • Connect manifold gauges correctly to HVAC systems and service ports
  • Read and interpret refrigerant pressure measurements accurately
  • Identify leaks, damaged components, and unsafe equipment conditions
  • Follow safe refrigerant handling and gauge operation procedures
  • Perform basic cleaning, maintenance, and proper storage of gauge manifolds
  • Verify the manifold gauge set is ready for safe and accurate HVAC service

Course delivered through our LMS and accessible in both VR and web. Learn on the web anytime, or enjoy immersive VR training with your own Oculus VR headset.

Workforce Development

HVAC technician performing installation after completing tool inspection and maintenance

At ImmerseLearn, we equip HVAC associates with hands-on, job-ready skills required for safe and accurate manifold gauge operation. This microcredential strengthens equipment inspection, pressure measurement, refrigerant safety, troubleshooting, and service readiness through immersive VR practice.

How this course strengthens workforce skills:

Gauge Manifold Identification and Inspection
Learn to identify manifold gauge components, including high- and low-pressure gauges, hoses, valves, fittings, and service connections. Learners practice inspecting equipment for cracked gauges, damaged hoses, worn seals, loose fittings, leaks, and other defects that may affect safety or measurement accuracy.
Gauge Connection and Pressure Measurement +
Practice connecting manifold gauges to HVAC service ports using proper procedures. Learners develop skills in opening and closing valves correctly, monitoring system pressures, reading gauge measurements, and recognizing abnormal pressure conditions during HVAC diagnostics and servicing.
Refrigerant Safety and Hazard Identification +
Recognize hazards associated with refrigerant systems, including pressure-related risks, leaks, improper connections, and unsafe handling practices. Learners apply appropriate PPE, safe work practices, and proper procedures to reduce exposure and equipment-related hazards.
Equipment Maintenance and Readiness Verification +
Perform basic cleaning, inspection, and maintenance procedures to keep manifold gauge sets in reliable working condition. Learners verify that gauges are accurate, hoses and fittings are secure, valves operate properly, and the equipment is clean and ready for safe HVAC service.

By completing this microcredential, HVAC associates will develop the confidence and practical skills needed to inspect, connect, operate, and maintain manifold gauge sets while supporting accurate diagnostics, safe refrigerant handling, and reliable HVAC service operations.
