Solar PV System Inspection
About the Course:
This Solar PV System Inspection microcredential trains PV technicians to identify and visually inspect the major components of solar photovoltaic systems. Learners will explore PV modules, mounting structures, wiring, connectors, junction boxes, and other accessible system components while recognizing their purpose and condition.
Through immersive VR simulations, learners will practice inspecting solar PV components for visible damage, dirt, cracks, corrosion, loose connections, and other abnormal conditions. The course emphasizes systematic inspection, electrical safety, proper PPE, and accurate identification and reporting of inspection findings.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the major components of a solar PV system.
- Understand the basic purpose of PV system components.
- Perform visual inspections of accessible PV system components.
- Inspect PV modules for cracks, damage, dirt, discoloration, or other visible issues.
- Examine mounting structures for visible damage, corrosion, or loose components.
- Inspect cables, connectors, and junction boxes for visible abnormalities.
- Recognize signs of loose connections, wear, corrosion, and physical damage.
- Identify conditions that may affect PV system performance or safety.
Course delivered through our LMS and accessible in both VR and web. Learn on the web anytime, or enjoy immersive VR training with your own Oculus VR headset.
