About the Course:

Safety is non-negotiable in any solar installation. This microcredential course provides a comprehensive overview of the essential components of a site-specific safety plan, including fall protection, PPE, equipment staging, hazard awareness, and emergency procedures. Through Interactive 3D demonstrations and VR Simulations, learners will build practical skills to identify risks and ensure a safe solar jobsite from start to finish.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the critical elements of a site-specific solar safety plan, including OSHA-aligned protocols.
  • Understand and apply proper use of PPE, fall protection systems, and electrical safety tools.
  • Recognize and mitigate common jobsite hazards such as battery handling, roof load distribution, trenching, and skylight exposure.
  • Develop safety protocols for vehicle and heavy equipment transport and onsite staging.
  • Create and follow emergency response and accident reporting procedures.
  • Build confidence in applying safety practices through interactive VR simulations.

Course delivered via LMS and requires an Oculus VR headset for hands-on VR simulations.

Solar site safety planning training for OSHA compliant solar installations

Workforce Development

Solar jobsite safety training focused on hazard awareness and emergency preparedness

At ImmerseLearn, we know that technical skills must go hand in hand with safety awareness. This microcredential is designed to give learners and employees the tools they need to protect themselves and their teams, while staying compliant with safety regulations. It’s ideal for installers, technicians, and team leads working in the field.

Site Risk Identification
Learners gain the ability to assess and identify potential safety risks before installation begins. From recognizing fall hazards to evaluating structural load limitations, this skill ensures safer, more efficient worksites that comply with industry safety standards.
OSHA & NFPA Alignment +
The course introduces key safety regulations including OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and NFPA 70E, helping workers understand their legal responsibilities and the protocols that govern electrical and construction safety. This foundation builds credibility and ensures workplace compliance.
Emergency Readiness +
Learners will be trained to respond confidently to accidents, injuries, or hazardous conditions with proper emergency procedures. This includes accident reporting, on-site documentation, and creating a clear emergency response plan tailored to solar installations.
Real-World Practice +
Learners engage in immersive VR simulations that replicate real-world solar jobsite environments. These simulations allow learners to safely explore hazard identification, proper use of safety equipment, emergency response steps, and jobsite planning—reinforcing practical application of safety principles in a controlled, interactive setting.

This course is a direct reflection of ImmerseLearn’s mission: to deliver affordable, hands-on training that ensures workers are not just skilled, but safe, efficient, and ready to contribute to a forward-thinking energy workforce. To advance your career further, explore ImmerseLearn's Photovoltaic (PV) Training, designed to prepare learners for industry-recognised certification.
