Walk-In Refrigeration & Ice Machine Installation
About the Course:
This microcredential equips learners with the technical skills required to install walk-in refrigeration systems and commercial ice machines. Covering both mechanical and electrical aspects, the course guides learners through building walk-in cooler/freezer boxes, connecting evaporators and condensers, and completing critical tasks such as refrigerant piping, wiring, and system evacuation. Through hands-on VR and immersive learning experiences, learners will gain essential knowledge on installing and configuring ice machines, including bin, head, filtration, water, and drain systems. Build advanced installation expertise with our online HVAC technician training.
Learning Objectives:
-
Erect and seal walk-in cooler and freezer structures according to manufacturer specifications.
- Install evaporator and condenser units with proper refrigerant piping techniques.
- Perform nitrogen sweeping and triple/multiple evacuation for moisture and contamination control.
- Complete wiring for control and power systems and install drain line heaters.
- Install commercial ice machines, including bin, head, filtration, water, power, and drainage systems.
Course delivered via LMS and requires an Oculus VR headset for hands-on VR simulations.
