About the Course:

The Emergency Preparedness in Pharmacy microcredential equips pharmacy technician students with essential knowledge and practical skills to support pharmacy operations during emergencies, disasters, and public health crises. Learners will explore regulatory guidelines, emergency response protocols, medication continuity strategies, and communication procedures that enable safe and efficient pharmacy functioning during critical events. Students developing emergency preparedness skills can further advance their career through our Pharmacy Technician Training Course.

Through interactive VR simulations, students will experience real world emergency scenarios including natural disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, system failures, and medication shortages while practicing decision making, workflow adjustments, and patient support strategies. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the purpose of emergency preparedness in pharmacy and its impact on patient safety and continuity of care.
  • Identify common types of emergencies and disruptions that affect pharmacy operations.
