About the Course:

This Installing Condensate Pump microcredential trains technicians with practical skills used in the HVAC training course, helping them properly install and connect condensate pumps used in HVAC systems to remove accumulated condensate water. Learners will practice real-world installation procedures including pump placement, pipe preparation using primer and adhesive, tubing connection, electrical wiring attachment, and operational testing. The course emphasizes correct installation techniques and verification steps to ensure reliable condensate removal and safe system performance. Technicians working on real-world system installations can further develop their skills through our HVAC Technician Program.

Learning Objectives:

  • Place and position the condensate pump correctly within the HVAC system

  • Apply primer and adhesive to PVC pipes for proper bonding and leak prevention

  • Securely connect condensate pipes and transparent drain tubing

  • Attach electrical wiring to the pump safely and correctly

  • Fill the condensate pump reservoir to simulate real operating conditions

  • Verify proper pump activation and water removal functionality

  • Ensure safe and reliable condensate drainage during HVAC operation

Course delivered via LMS and requires an Oculus VR headset for hands-on VR simulations.

Workforce Development

Technician practicing condensate pump installation and drainage tubing connection during HVAC training

At ImmerseLearn, we equip HVAC technicians with hands-on, job-ready skills for installing and servicing condensate management systems. This microcredential strengthens installation accuracy, piping preparation techniques, electrical connection safety, and system verification through immersive VR practice.

How this course strengthens workforce skills:

Pump Placement and Preparation
Learn how to correctly position the condensate pump and prepare piping connections using primer and adhesive to ensure strong, leak-free joints. Proper preparation prevents water leakage and ensures long-term system reliability.
Pipe and Tubing Installation +
Practice attaching PVC pipes and connecting transparent discharge tubing to the pump outlet. Technicians will learn how to ensure tight connections that allow efficient condensate flow without blockage or leakage.
Electrical Connection and Testing +
Safely attach the pump’s electrical wiring and verify correct power connections. Learners will also simulate filling the pump reservoir with water to test the float switch mechanism and confirm proper pump activation.
System Verification +
Confirm proper condensate pump operation by verifying that the pump activates and removes water effectively. This final step ensures the HVAC system can safely manage condensate and prevent water damage or system failure.

By completing this microcredential, HVAC technicians will build the confidence and practical skills needed to install condensate pumps correctly, ensure reliable condensate drainage, and maintain safe HVAC system operation in real-world service environments. For those beginning their HVAC journey, our HVAC Certification Training Program builds essential system, safety, and installation skills.
