About the Course:

This Installing PV Modules microcredential prepares PV technicians to safely and professionally install photovoltaic (PV) modules. Learners will apply NFPA 70 and 70E standards, OSHA safety practices, and manufacturer specifications to perform proper module handling, termination, grounding, and bonding. The course also addresses environmental and regional considerations such as snow load, wind uplift, and wildlife protection, ensuring installations are durable, safe, and code-compliant. To learn more, explore our Solar Training Program for comprehensive PV installation certification.

Learning Objectives:

  • Apply NFPA 70E electrical safety practices during PV module installation.
  • Perform terminations and connections in compliance with NFPA 70 (NEC).
  • Follow OSHA fall protection and jobsite safety standards.
  • Handle, prepare, and stage PV modules according to best practices.
  • Complete grounding and bonding using approved lugs, washers, and hardware.
  • Execute neat and workmanlike wiring and mounting practices.
  • Adapt installation procedures to account for regional conditions such as snow, wind, or animal intrusion.

Course delivered via LMS and requires an Oculus VR headset for hands-on VR simulations.
