About the Course:

This Manufacturing Workplace Hazard Identification microcredential introduces manufacturing associates to the fundamental principles of workplace hazard recognition, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe work practices in manufacturing environments. Through an immersive virtual factory, learners gain hands-on experience identifying common workplace hazards while understanding how proper safety procedures help prevent injuries, equipment damage, and operational disruptions. 

Using interactive VR simulations, learners first practice correctly donning essential PPE, including hard hats, safety gloves, safety goggles, safety shoes, hearing protection, and respiratory masks before entering the production area. They then identify and assess common manufacturing hazards such as liquid hazards, fire hazards, electrical hazards, physical hazards, and ergonomic hazards while learning appropriate preventive measures and industry safety practices. The course emphasizes hazard awareness, risk assessment, PPE compliance, and workplace safety, helping learners develop the confidence and practical skills required to maintain a safe and compliant manufacturing environment.
