About the Course:
Patient Wound Care and Dressing Procedures is a fundamental patient care skill for Nursing Assistants working in a variety of healthcare settings. This microcredential introduces learners to essential wound care practices, emphasizing infection prevention, proper wound cleansing, dressing application, patient comfort, and safe healing.
Through immersive VR simulations, learners practice performing wound care while following proper patient identification, hand hygiene, PPE usage, aseptic technique, infection prevention, communication, and safe body mechanics.
Learners will prepare the patient and environment, remove old dressings, cleanse and dry the wound, apply topical ointment and a sterile dressing, safely dispose of contaminated materials, document dressing information, and complete the procedure according to healthcare standards.
