About the Course:

The Precision Parts Inspection microcredential introduces manufacturing associates to the essential measurement tools, inspection techniques, and quality verification processes used in modern manufacturing environments. Learners will perform dimensional inspections using industry-standard precision instruments, including Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and depth gauges, to verify that manufactured components meet engineering specifications and quality standards. 

Within an immersive virtual manufacturing environment, participants will inspect gears, hollow pipes, and machined metal blocks by measuring critical dimensions such as height, diameter, thickness, and depth. The course emphasizes proper instrument handling, zero calibration, accurate measurement techniques, and interpreting measurement results to support consistent product quality and reduce manufacturing defects. 

Through interactive VR-based learning, participants will develop the confidence to perform dimensional inspections, select the appropriate measuring instrument for specific applications, and contribute to quality assurance processes.
