Professional conduct and patient confidentiality training for pharmacy technicians

At ImmerseLearn, we prepare pharmacy technician students with essential skills required for safe access to restricted and sterile pharmacy environments. This microcredential strengthens PPE use, hand hygiene, contamination prevention, sterile gowning and gloving, professional conduct, and cleanroom readiness through immersive VR-based learning.

Restricted Area Preparation
Learn why restricted pharmacy areas require controlled access and proper preparation. Learners understand how appropriate PPE and hygiene practices help protect patients, medications, and pharmacy personnel.
Hand Hygiene and PPE Preparation +
Practice proper handwashing and drying before beginning PPE application. Learners inspect and apply shoe covers, bouffant caps, beard covers, masks, and face shields according to facility requirements.
Sterile Gowning and Hand Sanitization +
Engage in immersive VR scenarios to perform repeated hand hygiene, apply a sterile long-sleeved gown, sanitize hands, and prepare for sterile glove application while minimizing contamination risks.
Sterile Gloving and Final Check +
Practice donning sterile gloves without contamination and positioning the glove cuffs over the gown sleeves. Learners complete a final check of the mask, gloves, gown, hair coverage, and ID badge before entering the restricted area.
Safe Restricted Area Entry +
Apply the complete access sequence to prepare for entry into a sterile or restricted pharmacy zone. Learners reinforce infection prevention, contamination control, professional appearance, and safe entry practices.

By completing this microcredential, pharmacy technician students will develop the practical skills needed to prepare for and safely enter restricted pharmacy areas by following proper hand hygiene, PPE application, sterile gowning and gloving, final checks, and contamination prevention procedures.
